AUBURN FOOTBALL
Who is going to help out Montravius Adams next season? That's a very big question for the Tigers, since Angelo Blackson, Gabe Wright, Jeff Whitaker, and Ben Bradley are all gone. JUCO DT Maurice Swain will be one of the first asked to step up, along with some of the players who redshirted this past season. It's going to be a young DT unit, though.
I'm sure you've all heard the story by now about UT commit 5* WR Preston Williams leaving his Auburn official visit early. Some - including SB Nation - have run with the story that he showed up wearing nothing but UT gear and was openly recruiting for the Vols. That's very unbelievable since all reports prior to his sudden departure were that the visit was going very well. Plus there were no big UT targets on Auburn's campus for him to recruit. But sure, let's go with that one unsubstantiated rumor on a Vols site. Or we could go with the other reports backed up by multiple people around Auburn that he was caught smoking weed. Either way, it's safe to assume that Auburn is no longer pursuing Williams.
Phillip Marshall takes a look at how recruiting has changed over the years he's been covering football. It's a theme he discusses every year around signing day.
It's a pay-wall article, but if you get a chance, I recommend reading Justin Hokanson's story on how Auburn is set to land its third straight Alabama Mr Football.
AUBURN BASKETBALL
Auburn lost to Texas A&M 71-61 last night in Auburn Arena. It happened because A&M's Danuel House was draining threes, and A&M dominated in the paint.
The women are back in action tomorrow night in Fayetteville, Arkansas against the Razorbacks.
AUBURN SPORTS
Auburn women's golf will host a tournament this weekend to honor former Tiger Danielle Downey.
