AUBURN FOOTBALL

Signing day is next Wednesday, and then just over a month after that the Auburn Tigers will take to the practice fields to begin preparing for the 2015 football season. Auburn has set March 10th as the first day of spring practice. A-Day will be April 18th.

Natalie Pierre of AL.com addresses every team in the SEC's quarterback situation from best to worst. Somehow she has Auburn ranked 5th. Who is ahead of Auburn? Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, and Mississippi State. I definitely have issues with Arkansas and Missouri. Tennessee is questionable. I would give Mississippi State the edge only because of the game experience, but I think Jeremy Johnson will be a better quarterback than Dak Prescott in the end.

One thing that will be a big help for first year defensive coordinator as the Tigers adapt to his scheme is having experienced senior linebackers. Kris Frost and Cassanova McKinzy deciding to stay for their senior seasons was a big win for the Tigers.

Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn found it tough to watch Ohio State win this season's national title. You can bet he will be motivated to get his team back to the big game next season.

Jovon Robinson - an early enrollee who went through bowl practice with the team - reached out to fellow incoming running back Kerryon Johnson with a motivational message. Those two are going to be very fun to watch in the backfield. Add Roc Thomas to the mix, and that is one exciting group of running backs.

Auburn is poised to finish strong in recruiting, and a large part of that is having Travaris Robinson on the staff. Once recruiting season is over, we'll then turn to seeing what Robinson can do with the DBs.

Speaking of, just minutes ago word came out that 4* CB Carlton Davis - a longtime Ohio State commit - will NOT be signing with the Buckeyes. Where is he likely to land? The Loveliest Village. That's all because of T-Rob. And because Auburn is closer to his home town of Miami than Columbus, Ohio. I have to admit I found it interesting that the OSU SB Nation blog Land Grant Holy Land reported Davis as a 3* in their decommitment article, while the 247Sports composite lists him as a composite 4*.

AUBURN BASKETBALL
