Auburn attempts to break it's four game losing streak this morning in Knoxville against the Tennessee Volunteers. This will be Auburn's earliest tip-off of the season by a long-shot. I believe only one other game has tipped in the afternoon. This one is 11am CDT.
The big storyline for this one is Bruce Pearl's return to Knoxville to the arena he once coached in as the Volunteer's head coach. He resigned after issues with the NCAA regarding a BBQ for some high school players. The violation wasn't even all that serious, but the denial that the claims the event never happened and not just coming clean to the NCAA are what led to Pearl's exit at Tennessee.
I'm sure he will get some friendly welcomes, and some that are not-so-friendly. It will be an emotional visit for him, but I have no doubt he will remain focused on the task at hand: getting the Tigers a much-needed SEC road victory.
