News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

John Reed-USA TODAY Sports

BASKETBALL

Here are the highlights from the Colorado game. There were some good ones in there, I just really wish the Tigers could have pulled it out in the end.

Cinmeon Bowers didn't have a very good game against Colorado (with the exception of a beautiful three pointer), but Bruce Pearl says not to worry, he'll bounce back.

The ladies take on Virginia in a non-conference game tonight in Auburn Arena. That's going to be a very big early season test for Coach Flo's team.

SOCCER

ESPN.com has a nice feature on the Tigers and the fight of strength and conditioning coach Megan Young against cancer. It's well worth the watch.

AU_Jonesy previews Friday night's match in the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament against Texas Tech. The Tigers owe the Red Raiders for last season.

FOOTBALL

Oscar Whiskey returns and boy is this just the perfect season for the format he came up with. I don't think he meant them to be noir pieces, but that's how I chose to read them, and it works great.

Emily put together our plays and players of the Geor... HAHAHA, JUST KIDDING, IT DEVOLVED INTO GIFS AND EMOJIS.

In banged-up Tigers news, Kamryn Pettway is close to 100%. Pettway is a beast of a blocker. Both of our H-backs are, really. They're only going to get better, too, since both are freshmen. Meanwhile, Sean Coleman's status for Saturday is in question, which means he's not going to play. That's fine. Rest him, because we're going to need him against Alabama. Robert Leff did a good job in relief against Georgia.

What did Lashlee have to say about the Georgia game? He's pretty good about not saying a whole lot that you can really pull a lot from, but check it out anyway.

Death, taxes, Gus Malzahn having a 1000 yard rusher. Those have pretty much been guarantees. With two games to go in the regular season, Peyton Barber is almost there for the Tigers, and given the porous nature of Idaho's run defense, you have to imagine he'll get there this weekend.

There are a few pieces out there on the defense. ESPN has a piece on the seniors wanting to leave Auburn in a better place defensively. The official site discusses things with Montravius Adams and how he's happy folks are having to respect the defense more, now.
