Got anything you want to do tonight that you would normally miss because of Thursday night football? Go ahead and due it, tonight. Neither of the college games are interesting, even for me as a Sun Belt fan. You could watch the NFL if you wanted to, but do you really want to be subjected to these?
Friday is a bit different, as Cincinnati and USF aren't that bad, but you're going to be watching Auburn basketball take on Georgia Southern, right? I know I'll be there. I'll be the guy in an Auburn shirt and a Georgia Southern visor (don't shoot me, I'm pulling solely for Auburn).
This weekend used to be billed as the SEC / SOCON Challenge. It's still a weekend in which SEC teams mostly play smaller schools as a break in the SEC grind before their big rivalry games. #8 Florida starts with Florida Atlantic, while South Carolina welcomes The Citadel.
The ACC gets in on the fun as #14 Florida State takes on Chattanooga at 3pm. The marquee SEC game of the day is #15 LSU at #22 Ole Miss on CBS. #24 USC at #23 Oregon could be a good game, as could #20 Northwestern at #25 Wisconsin. One of the biggest overall game of the day may be #9 Michigan State at #3 Ohio State. Our beloved Tigers take on Sun Belt cellar dweller Idaho, while Alabama takes on Big South champion Charleston Southern.
Mississippi State is at Arkansas at 7pm. As for me, I plan on finding a bar after the Auburn game and hope to watch Georgia Southern's offense continue its 379 yards rushing/game stat against the Bulldogs of Georgia. I don't like Georgia and it goes beyond just the Auburn series. Texas A&M is at Vanderbilt at 7:30, and Vandy does have a great defense, so that game could get interesting.
You've got a choice between #10 Baylor at #6 Oklahoma State or #18 TCU at #7 Oklahoma around that same time. One kicks off at 7:30pm (BU/OU), the other at 8pm. Washington State once again takes the #PAC12AfterDark spot as they welcome Colorado to Pullman.
