BASEBALL
Whew, so Sunny Golloway's press conference yesterday was somethin'. Here's our tweet-cap of the press conference, here. He was throwing out all sorts of allegations, including that Mississippi State's staff was claiming Auburn was under investigation on the recruiting trail, which MSU, of course, denies.
If you've got over an hour to spare, you can rewatch the Periscope from the Montgomery Advertiser of the whole thing. For a more detailed recap of the press conference, you can check out the MA's write-up, here.
FOOTBALL
For the second week in a row, Auburn was victim to a Floyd Mayweather Award winner in the College Football Knockouts. What that also tells you is that Auburn had a chance to win or tie the game on the last play of both games.
The Tigers picked up a commitment yesterday from one of their top prospects on the board in composite 3* Marlon Character. He flipped from South Carolina to Auburn. He's a 4* by some services and just below it in others, but he's someone this coaching staff wanted badly. Yesterday, they got him to flip.
Dr Z's not too thrilled about the way this season has gone, and rightfully so, but he's also a believer that this staff can turns things around. Check out his weekly eye exam of Auburn football in his Hindsight is 20/20 piece.
Did you like what you saw from Jovon Robinson? Well you're probably going to be seeing more of it. Robinson was the sole reason Auburn's rushing offense wasn't held to near historic lows under Malzahn. He also impressed the head coach as Gus mentioned in Monday's Tiger Talk, along with Carl Lawson.
Auburn's "stripe the stadium" experiment actually turned out a whole lot better than I thought it would. Much better, in fact. You can watch a time-lapse of the stadium filling in, here.
Auburn has a "Get to Know" feature for some of the football players. They posted one for #Legatron, yesterday. That joins one on Marcus Davis, and on Avery Young. Young's was shown in the stadium Saturday, and I knew from the moment is started that there would be mention of fishing.
