BASKETBALL
Bruce Pearl has made offers and attempted to set up neutral site games with anyone in the country in Birmingham and elsewhere. Unfortunately, he's had very little success. It's interesting that he takes a somewhat subtle shot at the folks in Birmingham and how they're much more accommodating to Alabama.
FOOTBALL
Auburn is still searching for a defensive coordinator. I know some reports came out late last night that Charles Kelly may have turned us down, but I haven't seen anything. We'll see what happens. I think the situation with him will be resolved one way or another pretty soon.
Carlton Davis was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team. I don't think that's any shock to anyone who watched him play this season. He started shaky, but as a true freshman who saw action in the very first game, that's not surprising. By the end of the season he was possibly the best DB on the team.
Gus Malzahn met with the media along with Memphis interim head coach Darrell Dickey Thursday afternoon for the Birmingham Bowl press conference. He updated the status on a lot of things regarding Auburn football.
Auburn has now sold out its second allotment of tickets to the Birmingham Bowl. They won't allocate any more tickets to the Tigers after Auburn has sold $10,500 tickets or so. I imagine it's going to be quite an Auburn crowd.
Do you like the "Get to Know" features? Well, here's the one for Auburn senior linebacker Kris Frost. I'm still sad they couldn't put the one they did for New Williams on YouTube that played at the Georgia Southern basketball game. It was hilarious.
