BASKETBALL
AL.com has 5 takeaways from Tuesday night's game against Mercer. It was an exciting game, and this is an exciting Auburn team. I can't wait to see how they do the rest of the season. Especially if Purifoy gets cleared.
Bruce Pearl is hopefully he'll have two of his Guards who were injured Tuesday night for the Xavier game. I think of the two, Kareem Canty is the most likely to play. And, to be honest, I think he's the more important of the two. TJ Lang adds a lot, but Canty has been on another level, this season.
There was a hype video for basketball played the other night that featured Auburn highlights mashed up with voice-overs and music from the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailers (speaking of, no freaking spoilers in the comments, people. I will delete them and ban you). At first they weren't going to publish it to YouTube, but I guess they changed their mind as it's up now.
FOOTBALL
Auburn got some great news yesterday when 4* defensive tackle Antwuan Jackson committed to the Tigers. Even without a defensive coordinator Auburn has not had a recruit decommit (at least not yet) and still picked up a big name in Jackson. Wheels coming off? Nah.
Speaking of that, how is the overall defensive line recruiting going? Well, Rodney Garner is killing it (in the good way), that's how it's going. Jared wrote about how that's going, yesterday morning.
The Ledger-Enquirer is still doing their position reviews, and they're on the Running Backs, now. That's quite an interesting position to review. The only constant was A) Peyton Barber and B) Someone else was hurt.
Speaking of Peyton Barber (who is 24 yards shy of 1000 on the season), here's a look back at every 1,000 yard rusher the Tigers have had going back to 2009. Yep, even 2012 had a 1000 yard rusher, and the fact Tre Mason did that in that season shows you how good he was.
Justin Garrett has some advice for his teammates about how to handle tough times. Hopefully Garrett gets to ball out in this bowl game. He missed the 2013 season with injury and much of last season for the same reason, as well.
Kris Frost was invited to the East-West Shrine Game. I'm honestly a bit shocked at that. Hopefully he does well there and improves whatever draft stock he has.
