Auburn basketball has its most talented roster in at least six years and likely fifteen. T.J. Dunans, Kareem Canty, Horace Spencer, Bryce Brown, New Williams and others have made an immediate impact on the Plains.
Danjel Purifoy, a key member of last year's class is yet to qualify. Danjel has been a good sport about the delay and is the team's biggest cheerleader on the bench. While Danjel's courtside reactions to his teammates' antics are hilarious, Auburn can't wait to get him dressed out.
He's being held out over a question about how his ACT score improved as much as it did between one taking and the next. The investigation has been going on seemingly forever so it's reasonable to assume that if there was evidence of wrongdoing it would have been disclosed by now or at least either by Auburn, the ACT, a beat writer, or twitter. I have no inside knowledge of the situation but I've lived through enough BARN'S CHEATIN' PAWWWWLLLLL moments in my young life to know when it's ok to stop worrying.
Danjel is a 6'7" wing who shoots beautiful, high-arcing three pointers but still drives to the basket and finishes with authority. He handles the ball well and plays fundamentally-solid basketball. If he were eligible, he would likely be an immediate starter and one of Auburn's top three players. Auburn's ceiling is high now but it would go even higher with Danjel.
