News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

Shanna Lockwood-USA TODAY Sports

BASKETBALL

Bruce Pearl had a lot of good things to say about Tyler Harris after Wednesday night's game against Coastal Carolina. Harris led the team in scoring against the Chanticleers and was definitely a very large part of that victory.

Speaking of, you can see highlights of it, here. Even with the court-level video it's above and beyond the Big South Network's broadcast of the game.

FOOTBALL

Dr Z doesn't want to see one of the most dynamic athletes in the state of Alabama get away to another state. I doubt Auburn is unaware of the kid, and it's unfortunately that his height is probably one of the main things keeping him from being a higher rated recruit.

ESPN says Gus Malzahn may be coaching for his job in 2016. They may be right, although I still think he deserves through at least 2017. His one year experiment with Jeremy Johnson didn't work, and Sean White got hurt. He deserves a chance to right the ship and maybe go the dual-threat route. I don't think we'll be able to fully evaluate that until we see Woody Barrett in action.

I'm aware of the AL.com article about Muschamp, but that's from Scarbinsky, and I'm not linking to him. If you want a much more reliable article, Phillip Marshall actually put his thoughts and info in front of the paywall. I highly recommend you check that out before you jump on the "sky is falling" bandwagon.

What will Travaris Robinson do if Muschamp leaves? There are likely to be a number of options. We know new Maryland coach DJ Durkin is interested in him as a defensive coordinator. I would not be upset if Auburn gives him the shot to run the defense if Muschamp leaves, though.

Auburn commit Tashawn Manning will not be enrolling early with the Tigers, as he originally planned. That's because he's currently fighting a much tougher battle against cancer. Similar to with Shon Coleman, Auburn is sticking by him with the diagnosis.
