The ladies continued their winning ways of the non-conference schedule, as they took on East Carolina and were victorious 83-69.

The team had a preview meet Sunday afternoon in Auburn Arena. They were practicing their routines for this season in front of the home crowd. See the highlights and hear from some of the gymnasts!

FOOTBALL

Hey, let's start out with some GOOD news, huh? Auburn picked up a commitment from an elite 2018 quarterback. If the type of QBs Malzahn is pulling in on the recruiting trail don't give you a bit of confidence that he can get the offense back on track, then I don't know what to tell you. Yes, I know, though, "can they develop them?" Well, how much of a sample size do we really have that he can't? We'll talk more on that subject, later.

Ok, now let's get to the news that stinks. Will Muschamp was named the South Carolina head coach. I can't blame him for that, really. Yes, he said he'd be in it for the long haul. I don't think he ever expected an SEC team would give him another opportunity to be a head coach so quickly, either.

The worst part of the whole deal is Travaris Robinson leaving to join him. I understand that move, too, though. We don't know what the stability is for Gus & Co after 2016. T-Rob wants to be the DC at Auburn. One day. He doesn't want to risk that chance as a one-and-done (though Auburn has shown it's not above rehiring

AL.com has a list of 11 potential replacements for Will Muschamp. Some of those names are very similar to my list in the link above on Muschamp taking the SC job. That's not surprising, though, because they're obvious names. The similarity I wasn't prepared for was Jack Curtis at Georgia Southern. Makes me wonder if the folks at al.com read my article from back when the Muschamp rumors were first starting. Curtis is from Birmingham and has done an excellent job at Georgia Southern with a roster still filled with mostly FCS recruits. His defenses are in the Top 25 in a number of categories. Don't knock the smaller school side of it; Chizik was at UCF, Muschamp at Valdosta before they were pulled up.

The mother of the #1 recruit in the nation is not a fan of Will Muschamp right now. That's defensive tackle Rashan Gary, whom Auburn has definitely been in the mix for.

Hey, the season isn't done, yet! We're going to a bowl game! It's the Birmingham Bowl. In Legion Field. Yay.

Here's video previewing the matchup, but I warn you, it's Finebaum and McElroy. I disagree with the premise from the headline, though. They think Jeremy Johnson's confidence and decision making will be the key for Auburn. I'm not so sure Jeremy Johnson starts. That's plenty of time for White to be healthy.

Want to see something cool for a former Tiger? Karlos Dansby is just one interception from becoming only the fifth man in NFL history to join the 40/20 club. That's 40 sacks and 20 interceptions.
