WAKE UP, NCAA!! There is a wake-up call being sounded early by the Auburn Softball team this season. Coming out of another week where the team soundly defeated each team they faced, this team is making a strong case to move up from their national ranking of 17.

The offense keeps humming along scoring quickly and often aided by home runs hit in clutch situations with runners on base. Auburn has posted 11 run-rule wins out of the 12 games they have played. Just a small sample of this output was the blowout win over Winthrop on Sunday. The Tigers pushed across 15 runs on 11 hits as 10 different players managed one hit in the game. The trend just continues as the offense sets up the pitching and defense taking the pressure off early and allowing them some breathing room in the event that they make a mistake. This is bolstered with the team blasting 25 HRs to their opponents 3.

Turning to the pitching and defense, the staff continues its excellent work on the diamond as well. Despite giving up 18 runs this weekend, they managed to hold opponents to one run in three of the six games played. Most impressive is the staff's combined ERA of 2.26 in their twelve games so far. Also, opponents are hitting just .239 against them vs. the Tigers hitting at a .444 clip.

Here are some leaders to take note of through the first 12 games:

Batting Avg: Tiffany Howard .606                                         Runs Scored: Tiffany Howard 21

Slugging %: Jade Rhodes 1.125                                        RBIs: Jade Rhodes, Branndi Melero, Emily Carosone 18

Strikeouts: Rachael Waters, Lexi Davis 17

The Tigers will be back in action Wednesday at 5:30pm on SEC Network+ against Georgia St.

Great start and War Eagle!!!
