Fresh off a big road victory against LSU on Thursday night, Auburn returns to the friendly confines of Auburn Arena on Saturday night to face the Ole Miss Rebels. So, in other words, it doesn't get any easier.
Ole Miss may not have Marshall Henderson to annoy Tiger fans anymore, but they're still a pretty good basketball team. They will bring a squad that is capable of making the NCAA tournament and will want to make sure they stay on that path against the Tigers. They are in a three way tie for second in the SEC with Arkansas and Texas A&M.
Thankfully, Auburn Arena is sold out. Ole Miss will be facing a very tough and re-energized Auburn home crowd. Auburn will need the help in facing the Rebels. If the Tigers play like they did Thursday night in Baton Rouge in front of a loud and raucous home crowd, then they are more than capable of pulling off the upset victory.
The road won't get any easier for the Tigers, as they'll have to turn around and face another of the SEC's top teams in Arkansas next week. But this is a team that's getting better, and hopefully the sold out crowd in Auburn Arena will drive them to victory.
For all the fans: Don't forget Coach Pearl's request that you stand up and be loud at the start of the second half! It is highly possible that a 5* basketball recruit will be in town for the game, as well. That makes it even more important that the crowd shows their love and appreciation of Auburn basketball and what Bruce Pearl is building here on the Plains.
