Would Tennessee Make a Run at Bruce Pearl?

Of course people are floating it out there (mostly joking), so let's examine the question.

Oh, you're still here? Ok, let's just run through two good reasons it won't happen.

1) Bruce Pearl has fully embraced Auburn and Auburn has embraced him. He's got a great thing going here. He's said he doesn't plan on going anywhere and wants to leave as Auburn's all-time winningest coach, and I believe him. Sure, he loved his time at Tennessee. You could see that when the Tigers visited the Vols this past season, but Auburn gave him a chance to get back into coaching, and I know he appreciates that greatly. You can also see he appreciates the love Auburn fans have bestowed upon him and his team.

2) Tennessee just fired a head coach for doing things that obstructed an NCAA investigation. Sound familiar? That's the reason Pearl was forced out of there. Granted, Tyndall did it at a different school, but still. They're not going to turn right back around and go after a previous coach of theirs who was let go for the exact same reason (though Pearl's wasn't quite as bad just at first glance).

So please carry on with your day, enjoy the awesome recruiting class Bruce Pearl is putting together at Auburn, and know that we've got a fantastic coach who is going to be around for a long time.

War Eagle.
