Auburn Board of Trustees Examining UAB-style cutbacks for AUM? - APRIL FOOLS POST

#FreeUAB? How about #FreeAUM?

Shanna Lockwood-USA TODAY Sports

In a shocking move overnight in an unscheduled meeting probably held in a sinister dark room deep within the Victoryland casino, the Auburn University Board of Trustees announced they will explore the possibility of cutbacks in the athletic programs of Auburn University at Montgomery.

The statement opens by saying that "With the University of Alabama Board of Trustees determining that football for the University of Alabama-Birmingham was just too much of a financial burden, we decided to do a review of programs underneath the Auburn University Board of Trustees and determine whether or not it was financially responsible to maintain some of the programs, there."

A source (who is an admitted Bammer) close to the situation spoke to us here at College and Magnolia, saying

Look, Alabama's Board of Trustees stole a bit of Auburn's thunder. That's what I think this is really all about. Sure, there has been absolutely no mention of it, even in their meeting, but we Bama fans can read between the lines. I just hope some reporters out there do some real serious digging. This is probably about finding money for that new Mothratron scoreboard, and I just hope the truth comes out. What? What do you mean the funding for that comes from completely different sources? FOLLOW THE MONEY, PAAWWWLLL.
