Auburn Gymnastics Advances to NCAA Super Six Finals

For the first time since 1993, and only the second time in program history, Auburn has advanced to the very final round of the NCAA Gymnastics Championships

It was a massive night in Ft Worth, Texas, as the Auburn Tigers finished third in Semifinal #2 of the NCAA Gymnastics Championships. The 8th ranked Tigers finished with a team score of 197.075, just .025 points behind 2nd place finisher Alabama, who scored 197.100, and .325 behind 1st place finisher Oklahoma, who scored 197.400.

Caitlin Atkinson took the highest scores on the beam with a 9.950, and took the All-Around title for Semifinal #2 with a total of 39.550. That score was just .050 behind Kytra Hunter of Florida from Semifinal #1. Hunter scored 39.600.

Semifinal #1 saw a tie between Florida and Utah for the top spot with scores of 197.475. Stanford took the third and final spot in the Super Six from Semifinal #1 with a 197.175.

The Super Six - the actual NCAA Gymnastics Championship round - will begin at 6pm EST Saturday evening. You'll be able to watch them through ESPN3 or the WatchESPN App. The teams involved will be:

#1 Oklahoma
#2 Florida
#3 Utah
#5 Alabama
#8 Auburn
#11 Stanford
