NOTE: This article is for Saturday's Regional games. For information on Sunday's Regional Finals, go here.
Games 1 and 2 of the Auburn Regional are in the books. In Game 1, South Alabama handled Tennessee-Chattanooga fairly handily in an 11-1 run-rule victory in the 5th inning. South Alabama, the Sun Belt Conference Champions, advanced in the Winner's Bracket with their victory.
In Game 2, Tennessee Tech jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the Top of the 3rd, but Auburn answered with two runs in the Bottom of the 4th and 5th inning. Rachel Walters started the game, but picked up the no-decision, while Lexi Davis worked 3.2 masterful innings to earn the win.
An Auburn win in Game 3 of the Regional means that the Tigers would not have to play again until Sunday afternoon's Game 6. The goal - obviously- is to stay in the winner's column and come out of the Regional only having to play three games.
Tennessee Tech and Tennessee-Chattanooga will face off folllowing Game 3. The loser of that game will be eliminated from the tournament. The winner will move on to face the loser of Game 3 at approximately 5pm on Saturday afternoon.
More information can be found on the NCAA Auburn Regional Site. Game times are listed in the chart below. For the Auburn games, audio can be heard here at AuburnTigers.com. All games are available to watch via ESPN3 or the WatchESPN app.
