Gabe Wright Drafted By Detroit Lions in Round 4

Gabe Wright follows Nick Fairley again and takes his spot with the Lions.

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Gabe Wright is now a Lion.  He was projected as a second or third round pick, but fell to the 4th round. He'll be filling a spot left by Nick Fairley, who signed with the Rams in Free Agency. Which means that he can wear his "Nick Who?" hat again!

Wright finished last season with 24 tackles, 4.5 tackles-for-loss and one sack. By comparison, he made 8.5 tackles-for-loss and three sacks during the 2013 season. You can read our pre-draft profile for him here.

Wright will have an opportunity to earn playing time immediately with the Lions. They lost both Nick Fairley and Ndamukong Suh to free agency, and they're really going to need to rebuild their defensive line. Gabe Wright is a good place to start.
