With the 174th overall pick in the 5th round of the NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers choose former Auburn running back Cameron Artis-Payne. Artis-Payne is the 5th selection for the Panthers. He is joined by WR Devin Funchess of Michigan and OG Daryl Williams of Oklahoma, Carolina's previous picks on the offensive side of the ball.

But, most importantly, he joins the Blessed Individual, Cam Newton!
You can read our pre-draft prospect profile of Cameron Artis-Payne here.
CAP will join a roster that has been runningback-heavy for a while. The Panthers currently have Jonathan Stewart, not to mention Mike Tolbert in a ball-carrying fullback role. But CAP and his style, one that gets consitent yardage without breaking big ones, should find a role on the team. And any benefit he got while at Auburn from defenders worrying about the QB's running threat should carry over on this team. (Because Cam Newton!)
Good luck to Cameron Artis-Payne in the NFL! Go show them just what the SEC's leading rusher can do!
