After falling to LSU on Thursday, Auburn now faces the most important game of their season.
It's a familiar foe for Auburn. The Tigers and Vols will face each other for the fifth time this season. As noted in our "Path to the CWS Finals" the other day, Auburn took the regular season series and also defeated the Vols in extra innings for the SEC Tournament Championship.
Now it's all on the line. If the Tigers can't defeat the Vols Saturday morning, their season will be over.
Lucky for the Tigers, while the Vols are a very good team, they don't have pitchers quite as good as LSU's Carley Hoover. That's not to say UT doesn't have excellent pitchers, though. In the SEC Championship game they were able to shut Auburn down for a good stretch before that magically 7th inning. You can check out our full recap of that game here.
Win or lose, it's been a magical season for Auburn. The Tigers made it to their first ever Super Regional and first appeared in the Women's College World Series.
It's not over yet, though. After taking three of four from the Vols already this season, Auburn has to like their chances in this one. Win it and they'll face LSU once again in another elimination match at 7pm Saturday night.
