News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

Shanna Lockwood-USA TODAY Sports

Clint Richardson wrote a nice piece about the softball team and how this year's team fits into the wonderful tapestry of great Auburn teams in the past and the Auburn Family as a whole.

Day 1 and Day 2 are both in the books, and the finals are set. We have the official site's article on Day 1 here.

Megan Walker was named to the first team of the Academic All-American squad with her 4.0 GPA.

It was a big day for Auburn football, yesterday. The Tigers picked up two more pieces of the 2016 recruiting class when the #1 fullback Malik Miller and a top JUCO cornerback in Jamarcus King both committed to the Tigers.

Auburn is looking for big things from Devaroe Lawrence this fall. Rodney Garner and others are quoted in there about Lawrence being one of the most impressive physical specimens on the roster.

There are plenty of coaches - Auburn's Gus Malzahn among them - who are pushing for NFL-level technology on college football sidelines. You can clearly see Malzahn's desire for it. It cuts out the need for the quarterback to look to the sideline for the next play and would allow for the Tigers to play just a little bit faster.'s VIP 25 is on #22 and it's who they refer to as the SEC's best running back. No, it's not Nick Chubb. I was shocked, too.

The biggest scoreboard in college football now has a complete frame. There's still more to be built on it, though. I can't wait to see what this thing looks like once it's completed.

FINEBAUM WARNING. I REPEAT, FINEBAUM WARNING. Cole Cubelic was on Finebaum yesterday and says Auburn's 2015 expectations are through the roof. I agree. And I think it's time we get over the "Auburn doesn't do well in seasons they're predicted to be good" thing. I think I'll write something on that for next week.

The Sporting News has their Top 25 conference games they're looking forward to this fall, up. This is after their Top 10 SEC games where Auburn was mentioned a few times. Auburn is on the list, again!
