A while back, I did a post about what the Auburn baseball uniform would look like if it was redesigned in a style for every Major League Baseball Team. This past baseball season, I've taken it a step further and (off and on) started making random Auburn baseball uniforms based on MLB Teams, Events, Adidas Templates, and even other college baseball teams.
THE MISSISSIPPI STATE COLLECTION
The sparkplug for the entire idea came from Mississippi State. At the beginning of the season, they (along with uniform overlord Adidas) unveiled a campaign that would mean that MSU would unveil 17 news uniforms for the 2015 Season to coincide with the Bulldogs' 125th Season. That campaign however, seemed to be surreptitiously dropped after the "F--K THE SCHOOL UP NORTH" warmups were leaked. Still, it was the spring board for a handful of these concepts:
THE "ALL-BLACK"
THE 2014 POSTSEASON
THE SIMPLE WHITE AND CREAM
THE FULL WESTERN FRONT
THE SIMPLE 2 BUTTON
THE PHILLIES THROWBACK
That's a good bulk of the uniforms in this collection. We'll start from the beginning with the "Black-for-Blacks-Sake" addition to the MSU arsenal. This one is a little bit different than the MSU version because I opted to go with Auburn's already established script instead of the MSU Western Font.
The 2014 Postseason Uniform (which MSU debuted 2 seasons ago) became the unofficial Adidas Template for the 2015 College Baseball season with almost every Adidas school being given some version of this horrible "Giant Logo plus Giant Armband" monstrosity. Don't believe me? These aren't even HALF of the Adidas Templates that were unleashed this past baseball season:
Adidas has a new template for this (2015) Postseason. That were worn by Louisville and Texas A&M and will be headed to an Adidas school near you very soon. However, Adidas isn't all bad (as you'll see in a little bit).
Even here, with Mississippi State, the uniform unlocked three great uniforms. The simple white and the simple cream. Personally, I'm more of a fan of the simple cream because the orange just seems to pop a bit more.
Adidas also revised MSU's classic Western Font look (and I tried to replicate it here) by adding piping and making it a full button up instead of a pullover. I also made a version of MSU's most worn uniform: the simple 2 bottom top.
Finally for MSU, they unveiled a sweet set of pinstripes that resembled the Philadelphia Phillies old uniforms (back in the maroon Phillies heyday).
That Phillies concept inspired another one, since the orange and blue color scheme more closely resembled the old New York Mets uniforms:
NEW YORK METS RETRO:
Which is basically the same as the other except with a full wordmark instead of a logo. The Mets uniform sparked another dip into the Auburn/MLB concept department. The Houston Astros new uniforms (which, I think are maybe just a year old) have been revised and the deploy the same Orange and Blue color scheme as Auburn. College Baseball teams imitating MLB teams isn't new. I mean, here's an old Vanderbilt uniform that just takes the Saint Louis Cardinals up a notch:
THE HOUSTON ASTROS COLLECTION
So I took the Astros and made 4 concepts based on their Tequila Sunrise, Current Home, Current Orange, and 2000s Era home uniforms
The 2000s era is a unique uniform because it has one of the more original wordmarks in all of baseball. That distinctive "A and script" hasn't really been replicated anywhere else (that I've seen) except for UC-Davis.
THE COLLEGE COLLECTION
The rest of these were inspired by a few other college teams and the distinctive looks they had. Vanderbilt has had a lot of success and turned a lot of heads with their dark pinstripes. However, they weren't the first (or even the most famous) to use the dark pinstripes. Perhaps most notable for their dark pinstripes is San Diego State. It also seemed like every school had a digital camouflage uniform. So, naturally, I had to make one for Auburn. On the retro side, I made a throwback uniform to mimic one of the Southeastern Louisiana's best looks and one that was similar to the "faux-backs" that Louisivlle got from Adidas as part of their "Diamond Legacy" collection. (See, I told you Adidas wasn't all bad). Finally, and a little closer to home. We have a concept that is a take off on Alabama State's eye-popping "fauxback" uniforms.

THE SAN DIEGO STATE DARK PINS THE PLACKET SCRIPT THROWBACK
THE DIAMOND LEGACY THROWBACK
THE DIGICAMO
THE ALABAMA STATE FAUXBACK
