It's not Auburn, but the U.S. Women's National Team is in the World Cup Finals!!! WOOOOO!!!!!!!!! What a game.
SEC Network Takeover
Auburn's SEC Network Takeover is going on right now! You can check out the schedule of what's remaining, here.
FOOTBALL
Yesterday was Kick Six Day! There was a leap second added, so of course I had fun with the whole "put another second on the clock" thing.
Part of the puzzle for the 2018 and 2019 out-of-conference games is answered, now. Auburn will open with Oregon in 2019 in Jerry World in Dallas! Yes, I would have preferred a home-and-home in Auburn and Eugene, but hey, this is something. If you want to check out other possibilities, here's the article I wrote a little while ago on the available games.
When describing the match-up, Jay Jacobs called Auburn and Oregon two of college football's "cool teams." Well alrighty. Hopefully we live up to that on the field in the years between now and then. Oregon's "cool team" reputation amongst the youngsters revolves largely around their uniforms (and, of course, their pace of play and they've been very good).
ESPN thinks the excitement leading up to that game may be just as fun as the game itself.
AL.com ranked Auburn's non-conference opponents between now and 2021. It still seems like it's one P5, a Sun Belt team, random team, and then an FCS cupcake.
ESPN says that Auburn is no stranger to tough OOC opponents. They site Auburn traveling to Manhattan to play Kansas State along with this season's Louisville game as examples.
