News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

John Reed-USA TODAY Sports

FOOTBALL

After last week's predictions of just where the Tigers will finish in this season's SEC race, I decided to write a bit on how now is the time for Auburn to flip the script on the whole "Auburn never does well when they're expected to" thing. I believe Tuco is going to have a bit more along those lines sometime this week, as well.

There are a ton of things on AL.com from yesterday that are of interest. They include Auburn making four of ESPNU's Top 25 games of 2014, Former Tiger Anthony Swain transferring to Southern Miss as a graduate, and former Tiger Sammie Coates reacting to his Madden NFL rating for some of the non-immediate football stories.

Gus Malzahn will be making the rounds of ESPN during their "Car Wash" of coaches on various network programs.

As we look to the opening game of the season, AL.com previews Louisville. During one of the interviews at the ACC Media Days, a Louisville defensive player thinks he's spotted some tendencies in Auburn's offense. That may have been true, but I doubt things will be the same when the Tigers play the Cardinals in Atlanta.

AL.com ponders what the biggest key will be for the Tigers if they hope to make a championship run. For me it's the pass rush. If that is clicking, we have playmakers in the secondary that will make things happen. Assuming they stay healthy.

Finally from AL.com, there's a story on freshman tight-end Jalen Harris being expected to play immediately. He'll have to, since the Tigers only have one other scholarship tight-end on the roster.

ESPN asked some players to describe their new coordinators in one word. I bet you can't guess the word used to describe Muschamp. It's not like you haven't heard it tons of times before (but I still love it).
