I am officially an Auburn Tiger!! #WarEagle thanks everyone who has helped me with my decision. AU17
— Alaric Williams (@Alaric_8) July 25, 2015
With that tweet, the Tigers added the second individual to the 2017 class. Williams committed during this weekend's big cookout event on the Plains. He joins 5* Offensive Tackle Calvin Ashley. That's a pretty good way to start the 2017 class, right there.
Williams chose the Tigers over offers from Alabama, Ole Miss, Georgia, Tennessee, and plenty of others. According to his 247Sports Composite profile, he is the #9 Athlete in the nation and #4 in the state of Alabama.
Highlights
The 6'0, 195 lbs athlete from Ashville, AL looks like he has pretty good speed and vision in the clip below. He's also shown catching a pretty good deep ball, which Auburn can use on wheel routes. He looks good wearing that #34, too, doesn't he?
The Class
Well, there's only two of them, so far. Those two together are good enough for the #10 ranked class in the nation and the #4 ranked class in the SEC. They are one spot behind LSU and one spot ahead of UGA, who also have two commitments.
