So, it looks like it wasn't really a full scrimmage, so there's not terribly much to report on that end. I do like that Gus thought about working on kicking, punting, and punt returning with the video board on. I'm sure that thing is going to be a big distraction to the opposing team when their returners are dealing with it. It's a great idea to get our guys used to it.
I'd love to embed Peggy's tweet about the offensive line depth, but I can't. Hearing that we have a lot of quality offensive line depth is quite awesome. That's a position where one injury can derail a season. It's nice to know that one injury shouldn't be too great a cause of worry for us, this year. Of course, we hope there are NO injuries.
Duke is already back with the second team. I am not the least bit shocked. I still think he may remain there through the start of the Louisville game, but he could also easily move his way back into the starting role in the next two weeks. The post-suspension news really did make it sound like the whole thing was never a big deal and wasn't something that would result in his starting job being pulled as a punishment as long as he kept his nose clean.
No change in the running backs, huh? So I guess that means we're still with Roc and Peyton 1a and 1b, and Jovon at 3 (assuming Kerryon isn't healthy and taking that spot). I really can't wait to see who earns the workhorse role out of that group.
Jonathan Wallace is getting reps at QB again. I imagine that's just because they want to redshirt Tyler Queen and don't want to worry about having him as the 3rd QB, but it's still a bit strange. I'm a big fan of Wallace as a person and for what he's been through here at Auburn, but I still think Queen seems to be the better choice for QB if for some horrific reason we have to go all the way to 3rd string.
And now to the tweets!
