Auburn Basketball Gets a 2016 Power Forward Commitment

Auburn adds commitment number two for the 2016 cycle, a Power Forward out of Worth County, GA.

John Reed-USA TODAY Sports

Power forward Anfernee McLemore of Worth County (Slyvester, GA) committed to Bruce Pearl and the Auburn Tigers, tonight. Unrated by 247Sports, it appears he is a 3* on Scout. The 6'8, 210 lbs McLemore claims offers from Brown, Oklahoma State, Oregon, South Carolina, and other schools.

He is the second player to join Auburn's 2016 recruiting class, along with 3* Point Guard Jared Harper. Harper recently lit up the Peach Jam tournament with his Georgia Stars team, leading them to the title and earning an MVP trophy.

McLemore's commitment is a bit of a shock, as I wasn't even tracking that Auburn had offered him. From Ryan Black's article, it appears Auburn offered him and he immediately accepted.

I expect there will be a good bit of basketball news in the coming weekd. It was the week before football season last year when commitments started pouring in for Auburn. The early signing period for the 2016 class runs from November 11th through November 18th.

The only video highlights I found for McLemore are on Scout, but I couldn't get them to play on my computer for some reason. Here's a link to them in hopes y'all have better luck, though!
