News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

Shanna Lockwood-USA TODAY Sports

HOME ON THE PLAINS

There's a number of things happening in Auburn this weekend with the fall sports. Football is the obvious one, but the soccer team is pushing to break the attendance record this Sunday.

SOCCER

Speaking of, AU_Jonesy previews that big weekend in Auburn Soccer, as the Tigers take on two ranked SEC opponents.

SOFTBALL

The first intra-squad scrimmage will be this Saturday before the football game. If you want your first look at the 2015/16 Auburn softball team, go check them out!

AUBURN

CBSSports places Auburn #2 in best Football and Basketball combo even after the start to the season so far. Things can still turn around to justify that, though.

FOOTBALL

Emily covered the watch list players from the LSU game, and, well, no one really had a great week. It just wasn't a good time all around, was it?

Matt previewed the Mississippi State game for us and hit on the key points for Auburn to be able to win the game. It should be a battle. It's all going to depend on just what Sean White is capable of.

Speaking of the MSU game, the story stream is now live where you'll be able to find all of the stories on the game. If you're looking for the previous ones, I created a section just for all of the year's story streams.

Want to know what football games are on TV this weekend and when & where to watch them? We've got your Week 4 TV schedule right here!

Senior WR/QB Jonathan Wallace is a semi-finalist for the "Academic Heisman." That's pretty cool. Wallace has been through a lot in his time here at Auburn, and this would be a great way for him to finish off his career.

Carl Lawson is frustrated and doing everything he can to get back on the field. I feel so bad for Lawson. In the few snaps he played against Louisville, it was obvious he was going to be in for a special season. I hope we can see him on the field again soon.

My how things have changed. At the beginning of the season, Auburn was a trendy pick for the College Football Playoff. Now ESPN is asking if "new look" Auburn can "knock off" Mississippi State. The narrative could flip right back if Sean White has a spectacular day on the order of Cincinnati's freshman QB last night.

Dak Prescott has had a pretty good career against Auburn. That's something Will Muschamp is going to have to change for Auburn to be able to win.

In videos, ESPN's Robert Smith and Joey Galloway ask if Auburn has a chance against MSU. In another, Adam Rittenberg says Dak Prescott shouldn't be overlooked and sure, I bet that's exactly what Auburn is doing, Adam. Then the SEC Network previews the game, as well.
