Gus Malzahn Weekly Press Conference 8 September 2015

Gus Malzahn and Athletic Director Jay Jacobs spoke with the media on Tuesday. All credit to the beat writers who were there.

Both Gus and Jay Jacobs spoke to the media today! We'll start with the Jay Jacobs quotes in the tweets (since he was first), and then get to Gustav.

Get to the stadium early for the "unveiling" of the video board! Be in your seats by 10 for some reason, but the unveiling is at 10:30. Soo... man, this is going to be an early day.

Tickets are sold out completely for the season except for some "returned tickets" for the Ole Miss game. I'm assuming that means returned from Ole Miss. THIS is the type of thing that results in stadium expansion.

As for Gustav, it's great to see that all of the players "banged up" against Louisville are supposed to play on Saturday. I doubt they see much time, though. As for other injuries, it's a shame to see Tyler Queen need surgery, but that shoulder has bothered him for a while. This explains (as noted) why Wallace was getting reps back at quarterback.

Gus is seeming to warm up and be more candid, now. I love his "well that guy was" comment on mobile quarterbacks being a concern.

Jason Smith is electric and needs to catch more passes like the TD that was called back. I agree Monty Adams had his best day as an Auburn Tiger. Having a man-child of a defensive tackle next to him and one of the best edge rusher in the nation on the outside helps, but Monty came to play on Saturday and it was beautiful. We could be seeing the beginning of a very special year for our defensive line.

Barber is going to be great. I think all of our running backs will be. Let's keep letting them alternate series and always have fresh legs!
