News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Read the story of Dodgers rookie pitcher Grant Dayton and his path to the big leagues. It was all started because Auburn's pitching coach was the only Division 1 recruiter who pursued him. Sounds like that coach had a good eye for talent, right? I wonder where he is, now? Oh, that's right, he's Auburn's head coach.

The men took home the top spot at the Jerry Pate Intercollegiate! It's always good to get a victory at the beginning of the season.

That Jimbo story is still just weird. WarRoom Eagle found yet a third version of the quote. Either way, he was complaining about RPOs and used Auburn as a poster-child, which is dumb because Auburn doesn't even run them that often.

The Undercover Barner discussed Auburn's various Davises, Davii, Streak of Davises, whatever you want to call them. There are a lot of them, some of which you may not be aware of.

Gus Malzahn updated us all on the status of various injured players, the Jimbo Fisher story, who the next up at running back is, and much more. Check out notes from the press conference, here!

Sean White will be starting his second game against Mississippi State this weekend in Starkville. How has he changed since his first game against the Bulldogs? Well, it was his very first game, so I'm guessing he's changed a lot.

Who talks the most trash on the defense for Auburn? Josh Holsey thought he was bad, but he's not close to Deshaun Davis.

Where has Marcus Davis been this season? He's been battling some health issues is what we were told, yesterday. He's also had a few key drops. I'd argue Davis has been much less reliable as a senior wide receiver than Tony Stevens, and that's something I would have been terrified to say before the year started. Stevens has actually been pretty clutch, though.
