News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

John Reed-USA TODAY Sports

BASEBALL

Fall Practice started on the Plains, yesterday. They'll begin scrimmages, today at 4:00pm Central. If you want one big reason to be excited, one of the starters this afternoon will be Keegan Thompson, who is back after missing last season.

SOCCER

The ladies kept the winning streak rolling along with a 2-1 victory last night in Lexington, Kentucky! Kristen Dodson (surprise, surprise) scored the winning goal.

SWIMMING & DIVING

The Tigers got a big commit for the swim team.

FOOTBALL

What does a day that doesn't official exist have to do with this weekend's game against Mississippi State? Son of Crow explains in this week's "History Repeating?" post.

We did a Q&A with For Whom the Cowbell Tolls about this weekend's game. You can see his answers for me here on our site and head over there to see my answers for him and be disgusted at the first comment and amazed at the guy who is absolutely convinced we should have lost the LSU game.

Do you need to know what's on TV, what's been changed, cancelled, etc, in college football this weekend? Well, we've got your Week 6 TV Guide! There have been some changes to it since it was first published since a game has been cancelled and Auburn and Mississippi State have changed networks.

On Tiger Talk, Gus Malzahn said there's a good chance Malik Miller could get a medical redshirt for his injury. In today's world of running backs, I almost don't think he'll need it. Although there are young backs still ahead of him, so he might need a year or two before he can showcase his full talents.

Rhett Lashlee has been getting some praise for his play calling that has produced 14 scoring drives in two games according to the official site. Unfortunately, a large number of those were field goals, so I'm going to hold off on gushing with praise. I'm happy we at least moved the ball on LSU, though, and we did what we should do against ULM.

Athlon Sports says the defensive strength of both teams may mean it comes down to a field goal. I hope that's not the case, but if it does, I trust #Legatron to get it done.

One thing that is promising for Auburn: Mississippi State has the worst 3rd down offense in the conference. That's not something you want facing one of the best first down defenses if you're MSU. For Auburn fans, it's fantastic.

I don't know if I mentioned this before, but I absolutely love Kevin Steele calling Montavious Atkinson a "rolling ball of butcher knives."

Bleacher Report went 1-on-1 with Jay Jacobs. See what he had to say on their site.

The Gary Walker safety and subsequent celebration by Walker and his teammates with him was awesome to see against ULM. Now read about Walker and his father, a former Auburn Tiger, himself.
