I've had today circled on the calendar for a long time. Today, Auburn/UAB basketball tickets went on sale for the December 3rd game in Birmingham.
UAB is one of Auburn's greatest basketball rivals. Last year's game was a great restart to the series. Auburn welcomed a really good UAB squad and beat them on a last-second blocked shot by freshman Horace Spencer. The Arena was packed and loud.
I love that Bruce Pearl has revived this rivalry and that he's bringing Auburn basketball to the Birmingham fans who can't make as many home games as they'd like. This year, Auburn will be led by old favorites like TJ Dunans:
And Bryce Brown:
And will bring in newcomers Mustapha Heron:
Danjel Purifoy
And one of the country's best shot blockers LaRon Smith:
I'd encourage Auburn fans to buy out the remaining tickets to this game. It's going to be a show worth catching and it shows great support for the program Bruce Pearl is building. I've already got 4. See y'all there.
