News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

John Reed-USA TODAY Sports

BASKETBALL

The Tigers took on Georgia State last night. It was a sloppy game all around. The Panthers had three players with 4 fouls before the 10-minute mark of the 2nd half. Auburn pulled away in the 2nd half, though, and came away with another big non-conference win 83-66 to start the season.

Bruce was very complimentary of a number of his players afterward, as well he should be. Jared Harper in particular, who is definitely living up to the hype.

FOOTBALL

When it comes to quarterback, Auburn really needs a good Plan B. Dr. Z is wondering why there isn't one in this week's Hindsight is 20/20.

I'm never going to NOT recommend you read Jonny Dent's evaluation of the Auburn offense, but this week's is a tough one since, you know, Auburn didn't have much of an offense.

There is an actual article asking whether Sean White will start against Alabama A&M. Could he use some reps for rhythm and confidence? Maybe. Still, though, there's zero chance you risk him getting hurt further. You sit him and hope he's ready for the Iron Bowl.

The Iron Bowl will be the 2:30 CBS game. That was a foregone conclusion, honestly. There was no way CBS wasn't going to claim the Iron Bowl in Verne's final year.

Stephen Roberts' "attempting to elude" and gun charge case was granted a continuance, meaning we won't know how that plays out until after the season.
