BASKETBALL
Coach Flo's Tigers are still undefeated as they knocked off East Carolina 61-52 over the weekend. Next up is Ball State in the Savannah Invitational this Tuesday afternoon.
SOCCER
History was made yesterday, as Auburn's soccer team knocked off #1 seeded Florida in Gainesville 3-1 to get to the Elite 8. The Tigers are one win away from the College Cup, now. They'll travel to Los Angeles to take on USC this Friday.
FOOTBALL
Auburn played a football game this weekend! Of sorts, at least. This type of FCS game is never really a game. It's not like when the Tigers played the runner-up last year in Jacksonville State. Auburn got its first shutout since 2008 when it knocked off Alabama A&M 55-0. See the immediate post-game recap and the "View From the Couch" if you need to catch up.
Who will Auburn's starting QB be for the Iron Bowl? Auburn isn't saying. Actually, they're saying they're still going to evaluate where Sean White is in the next day or so, but it amounts to the same thing.
Kerryon Johnson is near 100%. I still don't get why he was playing against Alabama A&M if he wasn't 100%, but that's just me. Personally, I still think they're just hoping they can get him to 1k yards on the season and they knew he could get through this game
We know this isn't the best year for the SEC. Auburn hasn't been as great as we hoped two weeks ago, but they've still been better than most. In a year where we're upset at the prospect of going 8-4 (after plenty of people were predicting repeats of last year), Auburn is currently 2nd in the SEC Power Rankings according to ESPN and could still make a New Years Six bowl game.
