BASKETBALL
Sure, the exhibition game was last Friday night. It's been a while since then. Still, though, it's better to have a review late than never! Tuco was there and wrote about his first view of this year's Auburn Basketball team.
SOCCER
Auburn Soccer is headed to the NCAA Tournament! Well, we all knew that was going to happen. We just didn't know where their part in the tourney would be. Now we know that the Tigers are a national seed and will host the first round.
FOOTBALL
Remember back when so many journalists already had Gus Malzahn penciled in as being fired after the Texas A&M game? Blake sure does. See this week's TAKES.
Auburn's offense was fairly vanilla last week. Particularly in the first half. Jonny Dent broke down what Auburn did in this week's game for us, anyway.
Vandy came ready to play. Auburn was sluggish and missing a lot of key elements. We still won, and that's all that matters to Dr. Z in this week's Hindsight is 20/20.
Ferg's Film Room also breaks down Auburn's performance against the Commodores. It's excellent if you want to know formations, personnel packages, etc.
Struggled on 3rd down have been the problem with Auburn's defense the last two weeks after being excellent on 3rd down early in the season. They're looking for ways to improve on that.
Auburn's defensive players are very complimentary of UGA's backfield. At least they've learned to be careful of what they say so that the media doesn't pull out soundbites to be "bulletin board material."
Game time for the final home game of the season is set, and it's 6:30pm Central. Since that's when Thanksgiving Break begins, I'm willing to bet that the student section is even emptier than it's been the last few weeks with students already gone rather than sticking around for the late game.
