Auburn Basketball Signees Shine in High School All Star Tournament

The future definitely looks bright for Bruce Pearl's squad.

We've spent part of the last few weeks talking about the future of Auburn Basketball. Well, tonight in Kentucky there was a brief glimpse into what is on the horizon.

Two of Auburn's signees, 5* Mustapha Heron and 4* Jared Harper showed out at the Kentucky Derby Festival Hoops Classic. Mustapha Heron finished the event as the MVP with 32 points in the game. Jared Harper finished with 14 points of his own, along with winning the 2 on 2 and taking part in the 3 Point Contest where he was a finalist.

Their team, which also features the son of Kentucky coach John Calipari, won the game 144-132.

That should help get you excited for what's to come on the Plains. Harper was named the MVP of a tournament last Summer. Heron this summer. Both are very talented, and Harper plays at a position Auburn desperately needs help in: Point Guard. The Tigers aren't going to want to throw him to the wolves as the starter in Game 1, but I could definitely see him pushing for the role.
