News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

Shanna Lockwood-USA TODAY Sports

Yes, it's late. I know. Sorry. Busy week.

BASEBALL

Sooooo, last night was bad. Real bad. Sure, the score was 8-5, but Auburn scored all 5 of those runs in the 9th inning. That's less than optimal. The lineup is really showing the loss of Josh Palacios and Daniel Robert (who did make an appearance in the game as a pitcher).

EQUESTRIAN

The ladies celebrated their national championship last night in true Auburn fashion: by rolling Toomer's Corner. It was still looking freshly rolled this morning on my run, which is always a great look.

FOOTBALL

So apparently there were folks making a big deal about the field in the football stadium getting torn up because of the Kenny Chesney concert. I'm surprised this was a big issue since it should be obvious that they knew it was going to happen and planned for it. I wrote some thoughts about the whole thing and why it's no big deal.

I did a Q&A with And The Valley Shook on Auburn's spring. You can go check it out! I'll probably put it on our front page before too long.

ESPN is on the running backs for their SEC position rankings. Auburn is a little higher on this list than they were on the quarterbacks list. That should come as no surprise given the way Jovon Robinson finished the season and with having Roc Thomas and Kerryon Johnson along, as well.

With Shon Coleman off to the NFL, who is going to replace him at left tackle? Well, it looks like it's going to be Austin Golson. Golson was Auburn's center until an injury last season. It seems the line will be Golson, Kozan, Dampeer, Smith, and Leff.
