Power Forward Transfer DeSean Murray of Presbyterian Commits to Auburn

He'll have to sit out a year, but a prolific scorer commits to Auburn.

Bruce Pearl & Company are two-for-two on the transfer market, now. First there was Ronnie Johnson from Houston. He'll be eligible to play immediately. Now it's All-Big South Conference power forward Desean Murray.

Murray averaged 20 points per game for the Blue Hose (yes, that's their real mascot). He's a part of the same conference that cotains Coastal Carolina, who beat Auburn two years ago in Auburn and almost beat the Tigers at home this past year. The Blue Hose weren't exactly stellar, going 11-20 overall and 5-13 in conference play. Murray's 20ppg looks even more impressive when you realize he must have been a huge part of what little offense they had.

Auburn will be needing depth at the forward position, since Horace Spencer is the only one returning from last year's squad who saw significant playing time. Of course, it will be a year before he gets on the court. At 6'5, 225 he's shorter than the previous forwards on the roster, but he definitely looks to have talent with his scoring ability.

Auburn added two forwards in the 2016 recruiting class. 5* strong forward Mustapha Heron and 3* power forward Anfernee McLemore. They will, of course, be eligible immediately. With this, you have to figure Auburn is done on the transfer/recruiting market for this year. The roster will pretty much be set barring any other departures.
