Auburn got one linebacker recruit last week, could another be on the way?

Auburn's 2017 recruiting class isn't very large at the moment with only four members. They're four pretty impressive members, though.

What are the major needs for Auburn, right now? Offensive linemen, linebackers, running back, quarterback. As you can see above, the Tigers already have a 5* offensive linemen in Calvin Ashley, a 4* linebacker in Tadarian Moultry, and a 4* RB/ATH in Alaric Williams. The one position Auburn really needs that it doesn't have right now is a QB.

The Tigers had a QB in Lowell Narcisse, but he decommitted and chose LSU, instead. Auburn has set its main sites on Baylor QB commit Kellen Mond of IMG Academy. His 247Sports Crystal Ball is actually 40% to Auburn now. It's funny to see a QB committed to one school and none of his Crystal Ball predictions have him actually attending that school.

On offensive linemen, Auburn is definitely trying hard to land the #1 recruit in the state in Austin Troxell. Troxell reportedly grew up an Alabama fan, so that will probably be an uphill climb at best. He was a teammate of Kerryon Johnson and Malik Miller, though, so that couldn't hurt Auburn's chances.

For linebackers, the Tigers are hitting up a number of targets. You can expect Auburn to take at least four linebackers in this class. It may be five if they can land multiple big names. Tadarian Moultry was the first on the board, but there's a very good chance he's joined by 3* Chandler Wooten of North Cobb in Kennesaw, GA very soon. Wooten is set to announce his college choice this Friday.

For a full list of Auburn's top targets, 247Sports has a handy round-up in one place. Big Cat weekend is coming up the first weekend of June. That will be a big time for Auburn's 2017 class as well as the 2018 class. Calvin Ashley will reportedly be on campus, which is great news for Auburn in a number of ways. For one, it can help shore up his commitment. For another, he can help recruit other big name players. A 5* commit is always a big help to draw in other talent.
