News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

BASEBALL

The Tigers fell last night to Kennesaw State and split this week's midweek games. I hope to have something up about both of those a bit later today. We'll see, as I'll be sleeping for a good bit of the day to do night shift at a Guard exercise, tonight.

SOFTBALL

The ladies are in Starkville for the SEC Tournament. Who will they play tonight in their first game of the Tournament in their defense of last year's SEC Title? Well, Alabama, of course. Because the year would be incomplete without an Iron Bowl in the sport.

See what star Kasey Cooper had to say about her honor of being the first player to ever win the SEC Player of the Year and Scholar Athlete of the Year.

TENNIS

The NCAA Regional in Auburn (the first in Auburn history) with start this Friday! Auburn vs Alcorn State at 2:00pm Central.

FOOTBALL

Want a recruiting update? Well, I couldn't think of anything else to write, yesterday, so that's what I wrote about. There's some good stuff in there, too, for what little I wrote.

I can't help but wonder what Gus and Rhett think (though I think it's good), but John Franklin III was working with a private QB coach. Oh, and Michael Vick, too.

What are the chances of Auburn using a two-quarterback system? Slim and none, really. Gus Malzahn wants a starting QB. Of course, that doesn't count the Wildcat, I'm sure. You know that's not going away, even though I know a lot of people hate it.

If the season started right now, one of your starting safeties would be Stephen Roberts. He came on strong at the end of last season when Tray Mathews was injured and looks to be a prominent player in the secondary this year.

That horrible Cam Newton. He's so horrible. He's going to partner with Nickelodeon to do a TV show for kids.

After a year of just chillin' (as he told the Colts he was perfectly happy doing), Jason Campbell has signaled his intention that he'd like to play football again if anyone wants to have him.
