One week after adding a much-needed linebacker to the 2017 recruiting class, Auburn adds another one.
Chandler Wooten, a 6'2.5, 227lbs 3* linebacker from North Cobb High School in Kennesaw, has committed to Auburn.
If you're looking at the fact that Wooten is "just a 3*," I urge you to click that link and check out the offers he's received of late. Miami and Oklahoma have recently offered him. Notre Dame stopped by his school. Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, and others have offered him, as well. It's quite obvious that plenty of coaches see a lot in Wooten.
Chandler Wooten is commitment #5 for the 2017 cycle and the second in a week after the Tigers went almost 2/3 of a year without a 2017 player committing. Prior to his pledge, Auburn was 39th in the nation and 10th in the SEC. Wooten jumps the Tigers up to 35th and 9th. To make you feel a bit better, that also makes the Tigers the top class in the country with five or less recruits committed.
This is another big move for Auburn as the Tigers are looking to gain momentum heading into Big Cat Weekend next month
