Auburn Softball is 4th Seed in SEC Softball Tournament

The regular season is over, and the Tigers are ready to begin the road to Oklahoma City

The last few games have not gone exactly as Auburn wanted them to. The Tigers had their first 3 game losing streak in a few years when the Tigers lost Game 1 to Texas A&M Friday night. That stretched to four games when they lost Saturday. With Sunday's victory in Game 3 and Alabama's loss to Georgia, Auburn was able to clench the 4th spot in the SEC Tournament and a 1st round bye.

The Tigers ended the season on a rough run, but Sunday's victory was a good boost of confidence. On the bats of Emily Carosone and Kasey Cooper (who hit two home runs in the victory), Auburn was able to still earn the bye for the tournament. They'll play the winner of Mississippi State and Alabama, who will play Wednesday at 7:30pm. Auburn's first game in the tournament will come Thursday night at 7:30pm.

Auburn is hoping to repeat as SEC Tournament Champions, which is no easy feat. It's a single-elimination tournament and most teams in the SEC Tournament will make the NCAA field, as well. SEC Softball is just that strong.
