News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet.

BASKETBALL

Even the mothership is taking note of what Bruce Pearl is doing, as they wrote about Auburn holding the #1 recruiting class in the nation at the end of July.

Somehow I missed this yesterday morning, but in Women's Basketball, the Tigers will meet Kansas State in the women's Big XII/SEC Challenge. The game will take place December 2nd in Manhattan, KS.

FOOTBALL

Basketball had some great news on the recruiting front Sunday afternoon. Monday morning, it was the football team's turn. The Tigers snagged the commitment of a 4* ATH/QB in Tray Bishop. That's a huge get for Gus & Company.

The AL.com "early scouting report" is on to Mississippi State, now. The Tigers are hoping to snap a bad skid to the Bulldogs that includes losses in three of the last four years.

The Tigers prefer to have a starting QB early in Fall Camp. It will be interesting to see just how early. I still lean towards that meaning Sean White is the likely starter, but that depends on just how far John Franklin III has come over the summer.
