Rhett Lashlee met with the media for the first time, tonight. Want to know more about the QB situation? Well, there's a bit of reading between the lines that makes me think that John Franklin III is a bit further from being the man than many think. I'm still leaning towards Sean White being the Game 1 starter. That doesn't mean JF3 won't get in the game, though.
For the running back by committee thing... I think we already figured that was going to be the case. It's always the case with Gus Malzahn until he knows who the workhorse back is going to be. If Tre Mason had been the #1 back for every game in 2013, he probably ends up with well over 2,000 yards for that season. I think Kam Pettway is going to be the heavy workload back overall, but he and Kerryon Johnson may end up with a near equal number of carries.
Getting to what the players said a bit further down, I'm going to skip right to Robert Leff and his statement that Jeff Holland is the second best pass rusher on the team behind Lawson. Mmmmm, yes, more of that type of info, please. Tell me how the true sophomore is a great pass rusher.
Or, at least, I hope that's what it means. Let's face it, over the last two years we've learned that Auburn's pass rushing has either been Carl Lawson or it's been no one. So, I hope this means that Holland is really pushing the limits.
On the last bit... wouldn't you hate to be one of those walk-on offensive linemen on the 3rd team who looks up and sees a 5* DL about to destroy your soul? Our DL is do deep right now it makes me giddy.
So, without further ado (and a few hours late), let's get to the Tweets...
