Former Auburn Tiger Kevin Green Gives an Epic Pro Football Hall of Fame Speech

Kevin Greene was inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, tonight. The speech he gave was as epic as his career.

Former Auburn Tiger Kevin Greene played for five different teams over a career that spanned from 1985 to 1999. During that time he racked up quite a few impressive stats. 3rd all-time in sacks. 1st all-time in sacks for a linebacker. An average of 10 sacks per year for his career. Kevin Greene put up amazing numbers in the NFL. Not bad for a guy who was a walk-on at Auburn University.

Tonight, after being passed over a few times since becoming eligible, Kevin Greene was finally inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame. He became just the 2nd former Auburn Tiger to reach that honor, joining Frank Gatski in Canton.

Greene's speech was filled with one-liners that got a great rise out of the crowd. From his quips about Bo Jackson, his place next to Brett Favre in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and to his final heart-felt salute, it was a great speech by a great representative of the game of football and Auburn University.

And can we talk about how majestic that bust is?

He ended the night with a very heartfelt tribute to those serving this great nation. This isn't just lip-service from an athlete. Greene himself is a graduate of Auburn University's War Eagle Battalion Army ROTC (where yours truly commissioned from and is currently on staff as cadre). He served as an Armor officer in the Alabama Army National Guard.

War Eagle, Kevin! An honor well-deserved and a long time coming.
