News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

Shanna Lockwood-USA TODAY Sports

In either the most naive or greatest troll move of all time, after the soccer game Sunday, there will be a BBQ hosted by none other than Auburn basketball coach Bruce Pearl. Yep, you read that right. Bruce Pearl is hosting a BBQ.

Oscar Whiskey does not like Texas A&M. At all. He discusses the reasons why and why this game is so important in his Whiskey Wednesday column.

Gus Malzahn and Kevin Sumlin both spoke during yesterday's SEC Teleconference. I captured tweets with quotes from both of them to get an idea of what they're saying about this game.

The Kyle Davis catch was one of the most amazing catches I've seen. However, it wasn't the craziest play on the night. The Sean Dive Spin Cycle play just has so much going on in it that it deserved a more thorough breakdown.

I somehow missed that the folks over at Good Bull Hunting published THE TAILGATE, yesterday. Those are always fun reads even when it's not your team they're playing. This week's is, of course, about the Auburn game.

See what Gabe Gross had to say about the quarterbacks and Gus Malzahn. The former QB and pro baseball player had some good thoughts on the direction of the team.

This week's game will be won or lost on the lines, and Auburn's offensive line is still trying to mesh effectively going into the A&M game. They performed much better last week, but that wasn't against a Top 25 opponent. Alex Kozan thinks they're ready for the challenge.

In the secondary, Auburn is glad to have Marshall Taylor available and getting into the rotation. Meanwhile, Tray Matthews is healthy and leading the secondary as the "quarterback" for a unit that has performed well, so far.
