News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

SOCCER

The soccer team is back in action tonight on the Plains as they welcome Iowa State for a 7pm game. After dropping the first game of the season, the Tigers have been on a good roll and hope to continue the winning streak.

SOFTBALL

Kasey Cooper is traveling with Team USA again coming off a world championship this summer. Now she's in Japan for the Japan Cup. I'm curious how that works with school in session, particularly for an engineering student, but good luck to her over there!

FOOTBALL

We talked to the folks over at Shakin' The Southland about the game. You can read their answers to my questions, here. You can also go read my answers to their questions and then scroll down to the comments and see that they reaaaaally don't like Kevin Steele and think they're just going to cruise in this one.

New contributor Drew Crowson, also known as Son of Crow, has a great new football preview playing off famous dates in history and possible (not really) parallels with Auburn's game on that same day in history. It's a pretty funny read, and I highly recommend it.

You're going to see a lot of freshmen play in the opener against Clemson. They'll play on offense, defense, and special teams.

Robert Leff's story could be one of the better stories of the year for the Tigers if he has a great season. A long-time backup for the Tigers, he's now the starting right tackle in his senior season and hoping to be a key cog on what could be a very strong group.

It was a sad day for the Auburn internet when Jerry Hinnen left writing for The War Eagle Reader and went to CBSSports to talk about college football nationally. Jerry and his Joe Cribbs Carwash prior to his writing at TWER were one of my first introductions to Auburn on the internet. He's back writing a lot of stuff for TWER again and has thoughts on the 2016 season for you.

The official site has a new mobile app for tracking your Auburn Tigers. So delete the old one and download the new one!
