News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

Do you want basketball videos? Well, the official site has two of them. First is a feature on freshman star Mustapha Heron. Next up is Episode 2 of Auburn Basketball: Every Day.

In bad news, it's not looking good for Danjel Purifoy to play, tonight. Auburn really needs him back soon to get things going in the SEC schedule.

The Diamond Club is hosting the Preseason Banquet next weekend, the 28th.

In very sad news for Auburn Baseball and for the Parking Deck crew, senior Utility Infielder/Catcher Kyler Deese was dismissed from the baseball team following an arrest for public intoxication.

The opening game of the 2017 softball season will be a rematch of last year's College World Series between the Tigers and Sooners. It will be televised on ESPNU.

Did you read the FanPost by rahien.din on Gus Malzahn and evaluating quarterbacks? Well, he came back with a Part 2 thanks to the suggestions some of you made in the comments to the first one!

Guess what's two weeks away? National Signing Day, that's what. So, I figured it's about time we had an update on Auburn's current recruiting situation. See who's already in school, who is committed, who we may struggle to keep, and who are some of the remaining targets.

Now-former Auburn wide receiver Marcus Davis was selected to the SEC Football Leadership Council.

Could a new offensive coordinator be close? I have no idea, but there are reports that Auburn has interviewed Mike Yurcich of Oklahoma State. If he's the choice, I really expect the announcement could come at any time. If it's not him, then I have no idea when the announcement of an OC will come.
