News and notes from the Auburn corners of the Internet

Wade Rackley / Auburn Athletics

BASKETBALL

The women couldn't get going with their shooting last night and fell at Missouri 53-68. I've also seen that afterward, Coach Flo had some things to say about Mizzou being a dirty team. I haven't seen specific reasons why that might be, yet.

BASEBALL

The baseball team is getting ready for their second season under Butch Thompson. It will be the first season where he's had a full offseason to work with them.

FOOTBALL

Oscar Whiskey has a "what if?" article for you. What if Tubs had hired Gus Malzahn in 2008 instead of Tony Franklin? For what it's worth, I've seen that Tubs said Malzahn would have been his hire as OC in 2009 if he had remained as head coach.

Nate Craig-Myers is expecting to have a big year in 2017, and I think everyone is expecting him to have a big year, too. Him and the other wide receivers we've recently signed.

Auburn lost a commitment yesterday from JUCO RB Octavius Matthews. From what I've read, it may be more on Auburn's side as there are some grade questions. He was originally going to be an early enrollee, but that didn't work out. Auburn doesn't look like they're trying to make sure everyone who signs will enroll.

So AL.com tweeted this yesterday, and it's still up:

They have been justifiably ripped for it on Twitter since everyone agrees that it was Robert Leff who won that rep by a large margin.
