Game Preview and Open Thread - Auburn vs Hofstra

Tigers finish up at Charleston Classic in consolation game.

Julie Bennett - al.com

Auburn went win-loss to start the Charleston Classic, setting up a consolation matchup with Hofstra tonight on the coast. The Tigers fell 88-74 to Temple on Friday in a game that saw Anfernee McLemore have a career outing, but once again the defense gave up a ton of points and open looks as Auburn dropped its first game of the season.

Now, the Tigers get to meet Hofstra, who’s 3-1 on the season and fell to Clemson in the semifinals on Friday. The Pride have won close games over Army and Dayton so far this year, and will be spearheaded by Justin Wright-Foreman and his 20 points per game.

The Tigers will try to get a win to end the event on a solid upswing, continuing to work on closing things out defensively, before taking a few days off as they await a home date with Winthrop Friday night.
